| Catalogue
40
Catalogue 40 is partly a stock catalogue, listing most of the books I have in stock, including books that have appeared in previous catalogues as well as new acquisitions. The catalogue is at the printer and will be posted at the end of February. For a sneak preview, the full illustrated catalogue can be downloaded as a pdf here > catalogue 40 The cover illustration, left, is taken from Stelluti, Persio tradotto in verso sciolto e dichiarato (1630) and is the first illustration made with the use of a microscope in a printed book. The bees are arranged to imitate the arms of the dedicatee, Mafeo Barberini, later Pope Urban VII, still at this time a supporter of Galileo. Stelluti's book is an important source of information on Galileo's work. |
